Lesson 4 of 6 · The Roux method
2-look CMLL: orienting the corners
Get the top color on all 4 corners, with the 7 corner OLL algorithms.
Keyboard: Enter to continue, ← to go back. Keep your hands on the cube.

Both blocks are done. What’s left is solving the 4 top corners: that’s CMLL. We start with a 2-look version: orient the corners, then permute them.
To orient them, you use the same algorithms as corner OLL in CFOP: Sune, Antisune and the 5 others. They don’t touch the blocks.
The top edges and the M-slice edges may move: that’s fine, they’ll be solved in the last step.
Remember: If you already know 2-look OLL, you’ve already learned this step.
The cases
- Sune: R U R' U R U2 R'. Only one yellow corner on top, front left.
- Antisune: R U2 R' U' R U' R'. Only one yellow corner on top, back right.
- H: F R U R' U' R U R' U' R U R' U' F'. No corner on top: two yellows at the front, two at the back.
- Pi: R U2 R2 U' R2 U' R2 U2 R. No corner on top: two yellows on the left.
- Headlights: R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R'. Two yellow corners at the back, two “headlights” at the front.
- T: r U R' U' r' F R F'. Two yellow corners on the right, the others face front and back.
- Bowtie: F' r U R' U' r' F R. Two yellow corners on a diagonal.
Troubleshooting
- My blocks are broken after the algorithm
- Check that you’re holding the cube with the blocks at the bottom, on the left and right.
- I don’t recognize the case
- Look only at the corners: ignore the edges, which are free in Roux.
