2-look CMLL: permuting the corners

Put the 4 top corners in place with the T-perm or the Y-perm.

Keyboard: Enter to continue, ← to go back. Keep your hands on the cube.

Read whole lesson on one page

The corners have the right color on top, but not necessarily in the right place. Two cases: two adjacent corners to swap, or two diagonal corners.

Two adjacent corners: put them on the right and do the T-perm. Two diagonal corners: do the Y-perm.

Later, you can learn the 42 cases of full CMLL to solve the corners in a single algorithm.

Remember: To spot two adjacent corners to swap, look for “headlights”: two corners of the same color on one face.

The cases

  • T-perm: R U R' U' R' F R2 U' R' U' R U R' F'. Corners: headlights on one side. Swaps two adjacent corners.
  • Y-perm: F R U' R' U' R U R' F' R U R' U' R' F R F'. Corners: no headlights. Swaps two diagonal corners.

Troubleshooting

No face has headlights
Those are two diagonal corners: do the Y-perm.
After the T-perm, it’s still not right
The headlights must be on the left face before you start the T-perm.
