At this level, doing random solves isn’t enough anymore. A good session has three parts: the algorithms you’re learning, targeted work, then timed solves.
The targeted work depends on your weak spot. Step timing shows it to you: a cross that’s too long, an F2L full of pauses, or a hesitant last layer.
Every week, do at least one ao100: it’s the most reliable measure of your level, far more than a personal best.
Finally, the daily challenge has you solve the same scrambles as everyone else, just like in competition.
Remember: A short session every day beats one long session a week.
Troubleshooting
- I’ve been stuck for weeks
- Change your targeted work: go back to slow solves with no pauses for a week.
- I don’t know what my weak spot is
- Turn on step timing and compare your times to the usual split: 15% cross, 50% F2L, 15% OLL, 20% PLL.
