The cross is slower one-handed. Plan it fully during inspection, just like two-handed.
For F2L, almost always insert on the right with R U R’ and R U’ R’. For a pair on the left, rotate the cube (y’) instead of doing L.
Avoid F’ U’ F: replace it with a rotation and R U R’. A rotation costs less than an awkward move.
Remember: One-handed, good inspection matters even more: every move you avoid is worth a lot.
Troubleshooting
- My rotations are slow
- Do them by letting the cube roll in your hand, without letting go.
- The cross takes me too long
- Use the cross trainer and plan at least 3 edges.
