One-handed, not all moves are equal. R and U are fast. F, L, D and B are slow: avoid them as much as you can.
R is done with the wrist, rolling the right face with your thumb and ring finger. U is done by pushing the top with your index finger. U’ is done by pulling with your index finger, or with your thumb.
Practice R U R’ U’ until it feels smooth: it’s the base of almost every algorithm.
Remember: To replace an L, it’s often better to rotate the whole cube (y or x) than to force the move.
Troubleshooting
- My U’ is slow
- Try doing it with your thumb, pushing the top to the right.
- I lose my grip after an R
- Let the cube settle back into your palm after each R, without moving your thumb.
