One-handed (OH), you solve the cube with a single hand, without touching the table. It’s an official competition event.

Most right-handed cubers use their left hand: the right hand stays free to start and stop the timer. Try both.

Hold the cube with your thumb on the front face and your middle and ring fingers on the back face. Your index finger stays free to turn the top.

A cube a bit looser than usual helps a lot: loosen the screws slightly, or keep your oldest cube just for one-handed.

Remember: Don’t squeeze: the cube needs to be able to pivot in your palm when you turn a face.

Troubleshooting

The cube falls
Hold the cube lower in your palm, with your thumb flat.

Keep sessions short: 10 minutes is enough at first.
